To add insult to injury, according to one study, adults will make 35, decisions every day. But for some of you reading this post, making decisions—both big and small—is grueling. Whatever God has willed decreed to occur will happen. And not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father. But even the hairs of your head are all numbered. On the other hand, what you will find in the Bible are morals and principles that will guide you in the decisions you make, which will explore in detail below.
All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness. For instance, here are some fundamental decisions God expects you to make with the brain and common sense he gave you:. Below, I'm going to walk you through how to make decisions with God and explore what the Bible has to say about making choices. The first step you need to take when making a decision is to actually clarify the decision you need to make. This is the compass that will guide you through the rest of this decision-making process.
Before moving forward, make sure you have a clear idea in mind about the decision you need to make. He lets you know how he desires for you to live your life for him. It does require studying the Bible to understand what God has to say about your decision. But obtaining this information alone is not enough. You need to know what the Bible has to say about the decision you want to make to be informed. But knowing what the Bible has to say about any given topic is only one part of getting wisdom from God. When we talk about biblical decision making, knowledge is knowing what the Bible has to say about the decision you need to make.
Knowledge is having the right information. So, if knowledge is having information, then wisdom is being able to apply that information to your situation. This is the difference between knowledge and wisdom you need to know. To help you think through getting wisdom from God, here are multiple Bible verses about wisdom and guidance for you to review. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.
Can this teach? Behold, it is overlaid with gold and silver, and there is no breath at all in it. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
Here are some Bible verses about guidance in decision making that will shed some additional light:. A fool takes no pleasure in understanding, but only in expressing his opinion A man of many companions may come to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother. God wants you to make wise decisions, and he has given you an open invitation to ask for wisdom James In your prayers, be open to the possibility that the LORD will redirect your desires to lead you in the direction he wants you to go. Nevertheless, not my will, but yours, be done. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Take time to understand the decision you need to make, study the Bible, seek counsel, and pray. Before making your final choice about a job, school, or whatever you decision you need to make, make sure you consider all of the choices you have. This sounds simple enough. But many Christians struggle with passivity or timidity in making a choice. For the Lord will again take delight in prospering you, as he took delight in your fathers, when you obey the voice of the Lord your God, to keep his commandments and his statutes that are written in this Book of the Law, when you turn to the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul.
Therefore choose life, that you and your offspring may live. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man. For God will bring every deed into judgment, with every secret thing, whether good or evil.

God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it. For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life. You need to trust that God the Holy Spirit will empower you to live a life like Christ. He's still at work in your life guiding your along the way.
In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life. But God and his people will comfort you, support you, and transform you more into the likeness of Jesus Christ along the way. He will not leave you or forsake you. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen.
For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal. For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong. Consider him who endured from sinners such hostility against himself, so that you may not grow weary or fainthearted. This is the case for many Christians in the United States and around the world. It can be easy to focus on the things going wrong in our life instead of trusting in God who we cannot see. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.
For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love. Can You Lose Your Salvation? The DEFINITIVE Answer From Scripture
Turn the situation around on yourself. Jesus said it best. No, when you turn it on yourself, you realize that even inside ourselves God has placed a moral conscience and that conscience tells us when we do right and when we do wrong. And when we violate our conscience, we need forgiveness. What on earth am I here for? Well, you need to understand God to answer that question. God is love. You were made to be loved by God and to bring Him pleasure.
Love God with all your heart and soul and mind and strength. God wants you to get to know Him and love Him back. He put you here to know Him and love Him. Well the truth is, God created you for five purposes. You see, you were made by God and you were made for God. When you come to this question, you only have three options. First is what I call the mystical approach , and that is to look within. You find this in a lot of talk shows, a lot of new age books, and a lot of seminars. The second way you can try to discover your purpose is called the intellectual or philosophical approach.
Where did I come from? Where am I going?
And some of them admitted they guessed. And it is only as you get to know God you will discover His five purposes for your life. We came from the goo through the zoo to you over billions of years. It creates a lot of our sociological problems and a lot of our self-esteem issues. But the truth is, you are not an accident. You were created by a loving God who loves you and designed you with intricate detail in your life. But because there is a God, and He had a specific purpose in mind when He created you, you do matter.
You matter because God created you. Bring me my credentials. Bring me my certificates so I can look one more time at my grade point average. Personal relationships to God and to other people are the most important thing in life. Well, first I believe in hell because Jesus talked about it. In fact, Jesus talked more about hell then He did heaven. He said it is a real place and it is a place of eternal torment.
And I believe Jesus knows more about it than either you or I. But second, I believe in hell because logic and fairness demand it. Think of all the atrocities and evil that have been done throughout history by evildoers in this world. For God to allow those crimes to go unpunished would mean that God is not worthy of our worship and love. Why would a loving God send anyone to hell? We choose to go there when we reject the love of God. Imagine I were to say to you, "On my right is a door heading to heaven, and on my left is a door heading to hell.
In fact, the Bible tells us that God does almost everything — well everything possible — to keep us out of hell. He wants to set us free. He wants to give us forgiveness. God made us in His image and He gave us the ultimate power to say yes or no. If we choose to reject God here on earth, then we, at the same time, are choosing to spend eternity separated from Him.
You see, there are only two kinds of people in the world. In fact, Jesus Christ has made it possible for you to go to heaven. What hit home for you in this article?
